George Harrison's back in the news again this week and this time little Dhani's name isn't in the mix. Martin Scorsese, along with Olivia Harrison, are currently working on a documentary about George's life. Most people know the stories behind the other Beatle's lifes, Paul, John and that drummer guy (just kidding Ringo rocks), but few people know about the "quiet Beatle's" life.
Stories such as George being deported out of Hamburg for being underage or getting stabbed in 99' by an intruder looking to steal his guitars out of his home (George reportedly still pummelled the guy) are hopefully be brought to light. If done correctly the documentary will also show Harrison's charm with the ladies. He scooped up the lovely Patti Boyd who was the "it girl" of her time, not to mention he wrote the song Something which Frank Sinatra was quoted as saying is, "the greatest love song of the last fifty years". For god sake's the guy received more than 30,000 gifts and cards from chicks on his 21st bday.
In closing Mr. Scorsese please please don't mess this one up, I beg you. I saw your latest doc. on the Rolling Stones...nothing special. Dig deep into that inner place that helped you make such movies as Goodfellas and Taxi Driver. Just like the title of my fav Beatles song DON'T LET ME DOWN.
That's What She Said,
Mike Love
